The Ipswich Genealogical Society Inc. was the first genealogical society in Queensland when it first formed in 1977. Our role is to assist and support people researching their family history.
The Society is managed by a dedicated volunteer group and relies on membership subscriptions, research fees, donations, grants and the sale of publications and photographs.
The Society has an extensive range of resources and library covering many countries and catering to all needs and specializing in Ipswich and the surrounding areas.
The Society publishes a tri-annual magazine, the “Bremer Echoes”, and distributes it free of charge to members, supporters and other societies nationally and internationally.
