Did You Know?

Dinmore Brickworks and Pottery, at Dinmore Ipswich, manufactured bricks as well teapots, water filters, soap trays and Staffordshire ware during the late 1880’s and into the 1920’s.

The clay came from the area on which the pottery was built, and earthenware sewage pipes with all the associated bends were produced. Mortuary tables for use during autopsies were produced at the pottery at least until the 1960’s.

Today Claypave manufactures natural clay pavers and bricks on the site, and they are distributed all over Australia and also exported to a number of countries overseas.
